"Don't Quit" poem rewritten

Edgar Guest wrote the poem "Don't Quit" many years ago.  Since this poem is now in the public domain, I have edited it into a christian version:

Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you are trudging seems all uphill,
When it feels that God's Hand is sitting still,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you feel you must sigh,
When it feels that God is nowhere nigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
And, you feel you are about to have a fit,
Rest in the Lord, and don't quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
But, when you are through and feel spurned,
Remember a supposed failure could have turned,,
And you could have won, had you stuck it out,
If you'd just trusted God with never a doubt.
So, don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow,
Then, God's goodness you will know.

Success is failure turned inside out,
Don't let the silver tint of the clouds of doubt
Tempt you to faint and feel there's no way out.
For, you never can tell how close you are,
The answer to prayer may not be away so far.
Stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things get worse, that on God you must not quit.

For there is a Mighty, righteous right Hand,
That moves on your behalf if firmly you stand,
If you would  not be weary in well-doing,
And stay firm to the task that God said to continue pursuing,
If you would be still and know that He is God,
And trust Him in time to make soft the hard.
Stick to the fight, your sins to God admit,
But, in all you are tempted to do, don't you ever on God quit..
