The fact that you were born is a testament to God's desire for you to be here. Think about this:
"Considering independent assortment of 23 pairs of chromosomes (n = 23) and crossing over during meiosis, the total number of different ways that human gametes can combine exceeds four quadrillion (252). This number is greater than all the atoms in our solar system. This vast array of different genetic combinations also explains the infinite variation in human faces (with the exception of identical twins). To really appreciate the magnitude of the 16 digit number four quadrillion, consider the 10 digit number 2.5 billion (2,500,000,000). If you counted one number every second (day and night), it would take about 79 years to reach this number. If you slept eight hours each night, it would take about 119 years. Also ponder the number 263. This number exceeds all the grains of rice ever produced in the history of the world! In fact, in some models of the visible universe, the total number of electrons does not exceed 1087."
So, does this imply that every person - each unique genetic outcome - has a 1/over 252 quadrillion chance of being born? Consider the odds of you being here, and you will begin to even the more appreciate your existence, and that God really wanted YOU here!!

"Don't Quit" poem rewritten
Edgar Guest wrote the poem "Don't Quit" many years ago. Since this poem is now in the public domain, I have edited it into a christian version:
Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you are trudging seems all uphill,
When it feels that God's Hand is sitting still,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you feel you must sigh,
When it feels that God is nowhere nigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
And, you feel you are about to have a fit,
Rest in the Lord, and don't quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
But, when you are through and feel spurned,
Remember a supposed failure could have turned,,
And you could have won, had you stuck it out,
If you'd just trusted God with never a doubt.
So, don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow,
Then, God's goodness you will know.
Success is failure turned inside out,
Don't let the silver tint of the clouds of doubt
Tempt you to faint and feel there's no way out.
For, you never can tell how close you are,
The answer to prayer may not be away so far.
Stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things get worse, that on God you must not quit.
For there is a Mighty, righteous right Hand,
That moves on your behalf if firmly you stand,
If you would not be weary in well-doing,
And stay firm to the task that God said to continue pursuing,
If you would be still and know that He is God,
And trust Him in time to make soft the hard.
Stick to the fight, your sins to God admit,
But, in all you are tempted to do, don't you ever on God quit..

Major Blessing from the Lord Today!!!
Most know by now that my husband has been out of work for soon-to-be FIVE months!! This means that we have NO health insurance, which also means that we have to pay for our prescriptions OUT-OF-POCKET! He is on insulin and other meds, and I am on meds for high blood pressure. I only had TWO pills left, and started to panic because I needed more medications and funds were low.
I went to prayer and prayed Philippians 4:19 over my situation: "For my God shall supply all of your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." I asked the Lord to provide for the medications according to this verse. What He did was more than amazing!!
To make a long story short, I ended up finding out from my doctors's office that I could come in and pick up THREE weeks of free medication, and if I still need more later, they would continue to provide it. Only God could have seen to it that I found out about this, as I did not know that my doctor did this. I was content to find out that I could get the same med in generic form for only $30 for a three-month supply, as compared to having to pay $315 otherwise, yet another piece of info that the Lord saw to it that I found out about. Needless to say, I was greatly blessed by the Lord's provision for me this day! To God be the glory!!

Creating a thankfulness journal
One of the things I have found very helpful is having a thankfulness/gratefulness journal. Journaling all of the blessings of each day is great for helping one keep focus on the many blessings of God, some of which we easily take for granted. O, to be content only with food and raiment, however. When you know that you are going to journal your blessings, it even seems to help you to be on the lookout for them. For example, Rachel is off today. For her to come here, and spend hours with us is a great blessing to me, because there are hundred and one other things that she could choose to do. Definitely going in my gratefulness journal. Praise the Lord.

Every Day I Awaken
Every Day I Awaken
Every day that I awaken
Is just a reminder
That God is not finished
Using me.
Evey day that I awaken
Is just another encouragement
For me to realize
That God still has work for me to do.
Evey day that I awaken
Is reason for my soul to
Swell in glad gratitude,
Just to know that my God
Still has need of me.
Away with the fretting,
Away with the tears,
There is no need
To worry or fear.
God is with me,
And He holds my hand,
And if I should stumble,
With Him I’ll stand.
Every day I awaken
To a new day’s possibilities,
No whining or repining for me,
For I shall be too busily
Looking to rise to a new day
To live wholly for God.
And if Satan, the world or flesh
Should come to discourage and call,
May God personally notify them
That I am called to live for God.
Every day I awaken
Is a day of hope,
Every morning that I
Open my eyes
I shall rise in salute,
As I receive my day’s orders.
I have much to live for,
Much to look forward to.
May God help me
Faithful to Him be,
Every day that I awaken.
Is just a reminder
That God is not finished
Using me.
Evey day that I awaken

Poem: Another Day, Lord
Poem of the day: Another Day, Lord
Another Day, Lord
by Janis Perry – Copr. 2010
God has awakened me to another day,
Pure, fresh, new and unscathed,
Given yet another opportunity
To live, Lord, wholly for Thee.
Another precious privilege,
To glorify and honor Thee,
Another day in Thy presence to be,
Another day’s opportunity
To live positively for eternity.

Poem of the Day: He Was So Much More
"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9 – 11).”
Yes, Jesus was a teacher, the greatest of them all,
And, yes, he was a Rabbi, counselor and sage,
Yes, he was a carpenter, prophet, a Man of Sorrows,
And though he was a great healer, He was so much more.
He was the God-Man, sent from heaven, God's own Son,
He was the Redeemer of mankind, Emmanuel, God with us.
He was the Savior of the world, Creator, Lord of Lords,
And, though He was a raiser of the dead, He was so much more.
Jesus, the Way, the Truth, the Life, Holy Sovereign,
Sent for every man, boy, girl and woman,
Jesus, the Christ, blessed Controller and Upholder of all,
Intercessor, Lord Jehovah, the Highest, very God.
And, though He was a teacher, the greatest of them all,
Yes, a Rabbi, counselor, and sage,
And, though he was a prophet, a Man of Sorrows,
And though he was a great healer, He was so much more.

4/04/11 - Poem for the day - Why Is God Last?
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33
In all of the busyness of life,
When our dependency needs to be on Christ,
Why, in the present and also the past,
Has God oftentimes been put last?
After our busy day is through,
When we're so tired we don't know what to do,
We throw our weary selves into bed,
As we whisper some thoughtless, trite prayer.
So often, all throughout our day,
Not a word to God is said,
Until some problem reminds us of our need,
Then, we might think to drop to our knees.
Why do we make God the last one,
After everything else is done?
The One who gives us everything,
In whom we move and live and have our being?
He who paid it all to save our souls,
Who deserves all of our worship,
Our dear Christ, Lord of Glory,
So often ignored, neglected so greatly.
By God's grace, may we rework our priorities,
And take every day and opportunity to seize
Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, to seek first,
The One whom after we should hunger and thirst.
Let Christ be given His rightful place,
Along with the honor that He alone deserves.
Let us crown Him King of Kings,
The Deserved Master and Ruler of everything.

Poem
To God be the Glory
To God be the glory for the things He has done,
Through all of our lives, may He be glorified through it all.
For, that is really all that matters in the whole scheme of things,
That God be given the glory and honor due His great name.
So we can trust Him, and do all we can according to His divine plan and leading.
To God be the glory!

Poem for the day: 3/31/11 - Another Precious Day
"This is the day that the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)
Another Precious Day
Another precious day
Worth its weight in gold,
Yet, another privilege
To live for God wholly.
Another precious day
To serve the King of Kings,
To serve Him and others,
Crowns to earn to one day lay at His feet.
Another precious day
To rely on God and on Him depend,
To live out His Holy Word,
The Good News of Christ to share.
Another precious day,
Which could be my last,
Don't want to miss today's opportunity
To make it count positively for now and eternity.

Poem for the Day: Then, You Do It!
"Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye. (Luke 6:42)
Then, You Do It!
If you have observed others to be unloving,
Well, then, you love.
If you see others being unforgiving,
Then, you make sure you forgive.
If others appear nonchalant,
Then, you care.
If others are yelling,
Then, you speak softly.
If others are unkind,
Then, you be kind.
If others are gossiping,
Then, you speak well of others.
If others are sinning,
Then, you stand for righteousness.
If you are full of complaints,
Just as the many in the world,
Of what others should be doing for the good,
If you really want to make a difference,
Do the very thing you see lacking in others,
Then, you do it!
